Nakama Sushi - Nakama Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, Bellport NY

My fiance and I are extremely disappointed in our first meal (and last) from Nakama sushi in Bellport, NY.To be fair, we can't say everything is terrible, but the sushi we ordered was.

First, we couldn't even eat our Miso soup because it was so watered down. Second, we had to open tiny packets of soy sauce which was a MESS! We ordered Nakamas special Gyoza appetizer which had no flavor or color. Then we open our sushi for two, to find poor cut sushi and sashimi, rolls which only tasted of cucumber and all but one fell apart.

The rolls had hardly any fish and were only small maki rolls...very disappointing for the price that we paid for our meal.

People are saying this is the best and I feel bad for them.Try some other places around the area and you will most likely change your mind about saying that.

Review about: Sushi.

Try the hot and spicy chicken feet. It is much better.

This is almost the worst "Japanese Food" My family and I have ever had! The Miso Soup tasted extremely bland because it was so so watered down. Apparently the soup was not just an accident on the night I dined there 9/2/2011. Reading the previous review I can see that this is their recipe. Awful!! My wife and I ran into two friends just sitting down for dinner and when we explained how poorly our meal was prepared, they got up and left before placing an order.

The Sushi and Sashimi were also prepared by unskilled chefs. It was obvious when one looked behind the Sushi Bar afterwards, that the three kids in baseball caps were not expertly trained. The prices however were comparable with those of Japanese Restaurants who have "real sushi chefs". The fish was not cut to the proper thickness for optimum flavor and the rolls had no taste. The octopus tasted like rubber. The salad dressing was OK but obviously not prepared in the restaurant . It tasted exactly like one I purchased from Costco.

All of the wealthy idiots patronizing the place were either to drunk, or too concerned about going to a trendy looking new place to notice that they were being "Ripped off"!!!!

Go to Sumo instead. It is not the best, but good, close by, and heads and tails better than this fake Japanese prevarication!!
